When it comes to hair beauty, dandruff is a real struggle. I was so done with commercial products. Thus, I start doing my own natural treatment to fight these annoying flakes. As we all know, dandruff is basically caused by an excess of skin cells. These just build up on the scalp and then starting to make thick and white flakes. Of course, there are other reasons for this too such as diet or stress. However, if you have a healthy lifestyle, it is time to turn to natural solutions. Hence, keep reading and see my favorite 3 natural dandruff treatments you can make at home anytime.
Let’s get into it, these are 3 amazing DIY solutions you will have fun with. Not to mention, the recipes will come handy especially now during summer season! Here they are:
1. Lavender Tea Tree Oil & Extra Virgin Olive Oil Treatment
Tea tree oil is so frequent in any hair care products and not for nothing. It is a powerful antifungal, antiseptic, and antibacterial natural oil. However, lavender tea tree smells so much better. So I would recommend to try this version. Furthermore, olive oil will hydrate your scalp and will soothe the flakiness.
Hence, use two ounces of extra virgin olive oil and about 15 drops of lavender tea tree essential oil. Mix these ingredients in a sealable container and use the mixture before bedtime. All you have to do is giving yourself a nice massage to your scalp and then rinse the treatment in the morning.
2. Lemon, Yogurt, & Honey Hair Mask
Honey is amazing when dealing with dandruff. It has antiviral, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties. Hence it will help your scalp by moisturizing it and it will soak up any dandruff buildup.
Make this effective hair mask with 3 ingredients. Mix together 3 tablespoons of honey, 1 tablespoon of organic yogurt, and 2 teaspoons of lemon juice. You could also add a carrier oil such as jojoba oil to make it easier to rinse away.
3. Garlic Treatment
The smelly hair for this treatment is temporary but the benefits will be amazing. Garlic is a very potent antibacterial and antifungal ingredient. Its properties will definitely help with dandruff. The main ingredient from garlic is the salicylic acid, which will help control seborrheic dermatitis.
Just heat some peeled garlic cloves and argan oil over a low heat on your stove. You will get an amazing garlic oil. Thus, apply the garlic oil directly on your scalp with a tablespoon of argan oil. The extra argan oil will help prevent any irritation there might be.
