At some point, each of us suffers from food poisoning. It’s a common condition and our body reacts to the consumption of contaminated or altered food. Fortunately, this condition can be treated with natural remedies.
I know is hard to believe that you can get sick by eating your favorite food, but this happens when we want to delight our stomach by eating that yummy sandwich on those street food festivals. Meat is the most common food that can be infested with bacteria, followed by seafood and dairy products.
The symptoms are pain in the abdominal area and fever, but, as I said earlier, it can be treated with the help of some handy remedies, and the following one turns out in being very effective.
Basil to alleviate abdominal pain
The plant has antimicrobial properties that fight against the microorganisms which cause you this painful inconvenience.
- essential basil oil
- 4 cups of water
Put a few drops of essential oil extracted from the basil leaves into 4 cups of water and mix well. Drink the remedy gradually with small sips throughout the day to kill bacteria that cause stomach pain and other digestive problems.
Another basil-based remedy is to add a few basil leaves, a little salt and black pepper powder into 3 tablespoons of plain yoghurt. Mix until the ingredients are well incorporated and eat this flavored yogurt 3-4 times a day until the symptoms disappear.
