Cervical spondylosis affects many people over the age of 60, and not only. If your under 60 and experience with cervical pain, you may want to see a doctor because you can face with cervical spondylosis. This condition affects the spine located in your neck. Long sleeps or sitting in the wrong position can be the main factors of cervical spondylosis. That turtle position (when sitting in front of the computer with your head lean on front) is the first sign that you will develop such condition. So, be careful to correct your desk position!
However, there are natural solutions to soothe the cervical pain at home!
1. Regular Exercise
The main reason of this condition is a lack of exercise which cause muscle weakness. The muscles are not capable to hold the spinal discs, making the day-by-day activities a nightmare.
So, you can rotate your back and forth for 15 minutes, daily, and you will get rid of the pain.
2. Hot and Cold Compress
The hot and cold compresses will alleviate the pain considerably and reduce inflammation. Apply a heat pack on the neck area, when the inflammation and swelling is, and then apply an ice pack. Keep each pack for 10 minutes.
3. Cayenne Pepper
Capsaicin is the compound in cayenne pepper which slows down inflammation. You can apply cayenne powder as a topical treatment applied to a bandage or put 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper in hot water and drink it 2 or 3 times a day.
Another option is to prepare a capsaicin ointment .
4. Epsom Salt Bath
If you are a bubble bath fan, then this may be the perfect cure. Add 500 gr of Epsom salt in the tub and stay in there to relax a bit! This is the perfect way to assimilate magnesium (perfect strong bone ingredient).
5. Lavender Oil
The anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities of lavender oil help in reducing the pain, inflammation, and swelling of the cervical spine joints and discs.
– 6 drops of lavender oil
– 1 teaspoon of coconut oil (or any other carrier oil)
How to proceed?
1. Mix six drops of lavender oil with a teaspoon of coconut oil or any other carrier oil.
2. Massage this gently onto the affected areas.
3. Leave it on for 20 to 30 minutes or overnight.
You can do this 1 to 2 times daily.
